About Us

Windom Peak is a full-cycle resource for CO2 sequestration projects in deep saline aquifers.  We can provide services throughout the process including:

  • Permitting
  • Design
  • Development
  • Owning and Operating
  • Monitoring and
  • Third Party Technical Evaluations

Windom Peak focuses on the safe, secure and economic sequestration component of projects, leaving capture and transportation to partner companies.

Engineering Team

The Engineering Team covers subsurface, well, and facilities engineering. The team works in collaboration with the Geoscience Team to validate and model the formation’s CO2 capacity for storage, well integrity, well injectivity, formation and cap rock integrity (geomechanics), and plume management. The Team’s documentation supports required certifications and approvals for the emitter and operating entity. The Team oversees the front-end engineering design(FEED) for facility design, and once in place, it ensures necessary equipment and processes are in place to monitor the sequestration and for facility operations. The Team’s reservoir, production, and facilities staff have decades of combined experience with oil and gas development and operations internationally, including CO2 enhanced recovery.

Geoscience Team

The Geoscience Team has 21 geoscientist, geotechs, geophysicist, petrophysicists, geochemists, landman, environmental geologist, and regulatory personnel with experience ranging from 10 to over 30 years in the majority of basins in North America and abroad in South America, Asia, Europe, and the Persian Gulf/Africa. In addition, Windom Peak has established relationships with geoscience service companies, such as Halliburton, TGS, Team Technologies (Nasa Contractor), Rohm Tek (Geochemistry Lab), Field Geo Services, Geographics (Geologic Software) and Core lab.

Leadership Team

Larry Chorn, PhD MBA

CEO

Larry Chorn is the CEO and Engineering Advisor for sequestration activities.  His background includes fifteen years of CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery experience at Atlantic Richfield and Mobil, economics and risk management roles at Mobil, S&P, Encana and Newfield and project management experience at Halliburton Global Consulting as a Partner.  He coordinates the efforts of the geoscience and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive, safe, and secure sequestration projects for emitters, regulators, insurers and investors. He began his current role in CO2 sequestration project development in 2018 and looks forward to bringing several large-scale sequestration projects to maturity and economic viability in the near future.

Stan Cullick, PhD MBA

Head of Engineering

As lead engineering advisor, Stan Cullick ensures that subsurface development, well planning, and surface infrastructure meet all the technical, financial, and safety requirements for each sequestration project. Stan has extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams on projects for two international major companies, several independents, and a major service provider in the upstream oil and gas industry. His team uses internal and third party resources to plan and execute on each project’s development and requirements for operations and monitoring.

Calvin Reppe, MS

Head of Geoscience

Calvin Reppe is the Principal Geoscience Advisor for the Site Assessment and Evaluation for CO2 sequestration sites. He is involved with and coordinates the geoscience and engineering multi-discipline teams to identify a sequestration project site that meets the client, regulator, public, insurer and investor expectations. His geologic experience is with major and independent petroleum and environmental companies associated with oil and gas, geothermal, critical mineral, and CO2 sequestration projects.

Windom Peak works with emitters to minimize risk and time to first injection by identifying one or more deep saline aquifers adjacent to the emitter’s facility before performing site evaluations and project engineering focused on:

  • Safety and security of the storage formation
  • Storage capacity (pore space) matching the facility’s annual output and life
  • Designing to avoid injection interruptions
  • Regulators’ requirements for a smooth permitting process
  • Optimizing project economics

We prefer a full-cycle engagement on projects to ensure all parties needs and requirements are met and the project proceeds to a successful, profitable end.

Windom Peak’s technology is unmatched in the industry with an aggregate expertise of more than 200 years of evaluating geology, assessing environmental concerns, engineering reservoirs and managing CO2 in the subsurface.
